Expert Harps On Gas Development As Panacea For Maritime Industry Growth in Nigeria

The Chairman, Zoe Maritime Resources Ltd., Mrs Oritsematosan Edodo-Emore, has stressed the need for gas development as the driving energy for the maritime industry in Nigeria.

Edodo-Emore said this in a statement on energy in Lagos.

According to her, gas is of great relevance in powering the nation’s Blue Economy.

She said the company would host a business roundtable on the importance of gas utilisation in driving Nigeria’s Blue Economy.

“The benefits of the Maritime Business Roundtable Breakfast Meeting are; visibility, growth, networking, impartation and exchange of knowledge,” she said.

Edodo-Emore said the Maritime Business Roundtable Breakfast Meeting (MBRBM) with the theme: ‘Minimising Gas Utilisation in Nigeria’s Blue Economy,’ was an avenue to discuss the relevance of gas in the industry.

She listed other subjects to consider at the roundtable as: challenges and opportunities of the use of Liquified petroleum gas in coastal communities and development of gas infrastructure for maritime use.

Others are: consequences of lack of optimal utilisation of gas, way forward, what the federal and state governments must do to drive the gas agenda.

“Zoe Maritime Resources Ltd., the foremost net working and capacity building institution in the maritime industry , in Nigeria, is pleased to announce its last networking event to mark the end of 2023.

“It is hosting its MBRBM on Maximising Gas Utilisation in the Maritime Industry in Nigeria, scheduled for Dec.14, in Lagos.

“The aim of the MBRBM is to bring providers, users and suppliers of Liquified Petroleum Gas together to share ideas and explore opportunities in Nigeria’s Blue Economy,” she said.

Some of the confirmed panelists expected at the event are: Dr Ubani Nkaginieme, Managing Director, Total Support Energy Ltd and President Virtual Gas Integrated Association of Nigeria, and Mr Wilson Opuwei, Chief Executive Officer Dateline Energy.

Others are: Rear Admiral Abolaji Orederu, Admiral Superintendent -Naval Dockyard Ltd., Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim, Managing Director, Admiralty Maritime Services Ltd., and Ms Hannah Omeje, Chairperson, WEOG Committee on Gas.
