TUNOD ELITE School Holds Cultural Carnival
In a bid to restore and continually promote the gradually eroding culture of the Nigerian Nation, TUNOD ELITE School, a fast growing and dynamic school noted for raising champions located in the heart of Idimu in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State is set to hold a Cultural Carnival.
In the words of the Proprietor of the school, Dr. Tunde Odeyemi popularly known as Dr. Tunod among pupils and parents of the school, this cultural carnival is special in every respect.
The event which is coming up on Saturday March 23rd at the school BODMAS hall with the theme “My Culture, My Pride” has the Director, Research and Publication, Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr. Adesegun Dosumu as the Chairman.
The Special Guest of Honor is Honorable Rotimi Olowo, former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Other dignitaries expected at the event are Mrs. Temilola Evelyn Okukusie, a Retired Assistant Director, Publications at CBAAC, Mr. Ezekiel Ayeni of LASACO Insurance among others.
Dr. Tunod asserts that “the importance of culture cannot be over emphasized. Culture is a reflection of a community and it plays a major role in the lives of everyone in the society. It gives a sense of belonging; therefore, all hands must be on deck to prevent further erosion of our culture. On the part of TUNOD ELITE School, the carnival is a way of contributing our quota to the sustenance of our culture in Nigeria as well as a strategy to input cultural values in the young ones.”
Some of the events lined up for the one day cultural carnival includes dance, drama, poetry, cultural parade and cultural ambassador contest amongst others. The carnival is being organized every four years because of the huge financial involvement which the school solely bears.
