Zenith Group Chairman, Jim Ovia To Speak At NCRIB Night Of Honours

The activities and celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) which started in March with the unveiling of the anniversary mascot will be rounded-off this evening at the Ikeja Marriot Hotel, Lagos.
The keynote of the event which is expected to attract the who is who in Nigeria from both public and private sectors “Leveraging Technology for Innovation” will be delivered by the Nigerian frontline Banker and Chairman, Zenith Group, Mr. Jim Ovia.
Speaking yesterday at the October edition of the NCRIB Members’ Evening hosted by the Prudential Zenith Life Insurance, the Council President, Rotimi Edu, highlighted the prorogramme lined-up for the occasion.
He said “in a bid to make the event grand and commemorative, Awards and Honours would be bestowed on some members, staff, institutions and dignitaries that have collectively supported the course of our Council.
Among dignitaries that would grace the occasion, according to NCRIB President, include the Head of Service of the Federation, the Chairman, House Committee on Actuaries and Insurance Matters, the Lagos State Government, our Past Presidents and Living Ancestors, among others.
Edu maintained that the Night of Honour would definitely be a day to celebrate all members who have supported the course of growth of our noble institution.
Reflecting briefly on the achievement of his administration so far, he said “It has remained a thing of Joy and personal delight that in all our undertakings, we have been guided by the thrust of this leadership which is ‘Brokers Centrism’.
“Our focus which connotes that the Insurance Brokers’ welfare, progress and development, irrespective of their location and sizes would be the vortex of all decisions and actions that would be taken throughout my tenure has continued to resonate in all our activities.”
While promising that the current leadership team will sustain the corporate feasibility initiatives of the Council, Edu said the Council has tweaked the strategies for identifying and reaching out to more corporate institutions and individuals.
In his presentation, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Prudential Zenith Life Insurance, Chuks Ogunbor, said they hosted Brokers for their end of year renewal as well as strengthen their relationship with the broking fraternity.
While soliciting the Brokers patronage, the Ogunbor said the firm has as all it takes to meet the brokers’ expectations especially in the area of prompt claim settlement.
He said between 2017 and today, Prudential Zenith Life Insurance has paid claims in excess of N12 billion just as he informed the audience that the firm is fully capitalized to the tune of N8 billion as required by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) before the exercise was truncated by litigation.
