Insurance
Your Claims Matter

You may not have an insurance policy, but you matter when it comes to sharing the right message.
You may have been an Insurance Policyholder for years without having any claim, but you matter too when it comes to sharing the right message.
You may be one of those Insurance Policyholders who had a claim that was poorly managed by your Insurer, you also matter when it comes to sharing the right message.
You may be an Insurance Policyholder who had a claim that was treated to your delight, you matter most when it comes to sharing the right message.
So, I’m thinking of enhancing the overall insurance experiences of Nigerians by sharing a few Claims Numbers every week to improve the level of believability about insurance.
It is my humble belief that if insurance companies share on a weekly basis the Number of Claims Reported, Number of Claims Settled and Total Amount of Claims Paid, it’ll go a long way to rebuilding confidence in the relationship between the insuring public and the insurance industry in Nigeria. I’ve made a request to insurers for these numbers, which will be communicated every Monday, if acceptable.
However, to balance the outcome at my end, I am requesting you to report the Claims you’ve reported and those you’ve been paid within the week. Will you honour this request?
Remember, Claims is part of the insurance business and will never go away but the current effort is to ensure that unpaid claims are not lingering and giving stakeholders bad insurance experiences.
I believe focus on the evidences about claims will significantly change the narratives about insurance in Nigeria.
Let’s do this and ensure we make insurance work for us.
