Tunde Fajemirokun, Akinjide Orimolade, Austin Osegha Ebose, Others Nominated For Almond Insurance Industry CEO of the Year 2024 Award

Almond Productions Limited, the organisers of 2024 Almond Insurance Industry Awards has unveiled Mr. Tunde Fajemirokun (Managing Director/CEO, AIICO Insurance PLC), Mr. Akinjide Orimolade (MD/CEO Stanbic IBTC Insurance Limited), Dr. Austin Osegha Ebose, (MD/CEO, Anchor Insurance Company Limited).
Others named as nominees for Insurance CEO of the Year include Ebelechukwu Nwanchukwu (MD/CEO, Rex Insurance Limited) and Olufemi Asenuga (MD/CEO Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc).
In her opening remarks, at a press conference in Lagos recently to announce the nominees of the various categories of the awards, the Chief Executive Officer, Almond Production Limited (Almond Global Group), Miss Faith Ughwode, said Almond Insurance Industry Awards was initiated to foster the best corporate management, leadership, governance, innovation, and sustainable growth in the Nigeria’s insurance sector.
The Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite, she said was instituted to reward the “Can Do Spirit” of the Men and Women in the various arms of the Insurance Industry who strive daily to sell insurance either to Individuals or Corporate entities in Nigeria despite the myriad of challenges and obstacles they face. Yet they still forge ahead to underwrite huge business by way of Gross Premium Income (GPI) year on year.
Also speaking, Chairman, Awards Panel of Judges, Ms. Prisca Soares, said this year’s awards witnessed increase in participation from Insurance Industry Stakeholders.
“We are convened here today to reveal the nominees in the various categories. I am thrilled by the Industry’s enthusiastic response to this year’s Awards. The meticulous nomination process which spanned over a month saw active participation from Top Management, Corporate Entities, and Individual Clients, all nominating based on the provided criteria.
“This year, we witnessed a significant increase in participation from Insurance Industry Stakeholders. This is evident in the number of nominations we received this year (392) compared to last year’s 101. The 288.12% increase in participation in the nomination process is a testament to the growing recognition and prestige of the Almond Awards within and outside the Insurance Industry.
“Some of the Nominations were not considered due to non-compliance with the criteria. I must say that overall it was well received.
“It is pertinent to inform you that nominees for the various categories went through the mill of due process and screening by the Judges before being Shortlisted for the Voting Process, she said.

For Insurance Life Achievers Award Category, nominees are: Sir Ogala Osoka, Valentine Ojumah and Prof. Ahmed Salawudeen.
