Reps To Assist Kebbi State Access N3.2bn TETFund Assistance
The Committee on TETFund and Other Services, House of Representatives, has indicated willingness to assist the Kebbi state government-owned tertiary institutions to access the 2024 intervention fund amounting to N3.2 billion now in the bank.
About N2 billion is accruing to the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, while N1.2 billion is due to the Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari.
The chairperson, House Committee on TETFund and Other Services, Rt. Hon. Mariam Odinaka Onoha, announced this during a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi in the course of the oversight functions of members of the committee.
Hon. Onoha informed her host that the money allocated to the institutions were yet to be accessed due to some bottlenecks which the House of Representatives was ready to remove to enable access to the funds.
“Part of the oversight functions of the committee is to ensure that all institutions are allowed to enjoy the benefits of fund allocation and compliance with the TETFund Act by the beneficiaries nationwide.
“The House wants holistic approach to the amendment of the Act with input from stakeholders, the committee is on ground to give a helping hand,” she assured.
