PTAD Partners ICPC, EFCC To Fight Pension Fraudsters
Dr. Chioma Ejikeme, Executive Secretary, PTAD
Pension Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said they have gone into partnership with Anti-Corruption Agencies like Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in their fight against pension fraudsters.
Director, Parastatals Pension Directorate (PaPD), Kabiru Yusuf who represented the Executive Secretary, PTAD, Dr Chioma Ejikeme, made this disclosure at a training workshop organized by the Directorate for insurance and pension journalists in Lagos recently.
He said the collaboration with the above-mentioned agencies is aimed at fighting the pension fraudsters to a standstill and solicited the support of the pensioners and the general public.
Yusuf warned the pensioners not to be misled by fraudulent activities of pension scammers who call pensioners to request processing fees or cash to fast-track their complaints about payment of outstanding entitlements.
He noted that PTAD will never request processing fees for verification or to process any complaints from any pensioners even as he urged pensioners to always direct their complaints to the Pension Support Services Department, established to attend to all manner of complaints.
He charged pensioners to report all incidences of any person calling them to facilitate their pension payment.
“Any claim made to you that government owes you an amount that sounds too good to be true is probably fraudulent. Call PTAD on 08002257823 (toll-free) or 08144607574 (normal rates)
“If you have been defrauded by a pension fraudster and have evidence to show, kindly contact PTAD and volunteer to be a witness in any of the lawsuits being filed against the unscrupulous pension fraudsters,” he appealed.
