*Warns against patronizing pension fraudsters
Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said it has finalized payment of benefits to 297 NoKs of the Civil Service Pension Department, promising that the process will continue until all are paid.
She also reiterated her resolve to ensure that senior citizens who spent their youthful strength serving the country get their due in their ailing years.
PTAD’s Executive Secretary, Dr Chioma Ejikeme, said these on her official twitter handle while responding to enquiries from pensioners.
While warning pensioners not to give money to anybody to process their entitlement, she said PTAD will not take money from any pensioners before processing their entitlement.
According to her, “PTAD has finalized payment of benefits to 297 NoKs of the Civil Service Pension Department. It is an ongoing process. We will continue to pay in batches.
“Only a batch of 297 NoKs were paid. Like I said, we will continue to pay in batches. We shall be publishing the names of the 297 beneficiaries in the Dailies soon and on twitter. We are continuing with another batch and we will continue to publish names.
“Some of the verified NOKs on validation of the verification are NOT eligible for payment while some are required to provide additional documents. We shall also be publishing names of the NoKs in these various categories for their information.
“BEWARE OF PENSION FRAUDSTERS!!!. PTAD will NEVER take money from you or ask you for money to process your entitlements. Your entitlement is your right and you do not have to pay to get it. Kindly bear with us as we continue to try to settle pension liabilities.
“The Executive Secretary of PTAD is A PTAD PENSIONER. I am not only here to represent our constituency but to serve and make sure that Senior Citizens who spent their youthful strength serving the country get their due in their ailing years.
“The young man/woman of today is the pensioner/old man/old woman of tomorrow. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
“I pray this should be some form of consolation to pensioners, their friends and NOK. Kindly be patient with us as we work towards trying to find lasting solutions to all the complaints.
While advising the senior citizens to be conscious of the effect of the ravaging COVID-19, she saiid “Keep away from gatherings. Obey all the respiratory hygiene advice as given daily by the Federal Ministry of Health and the State Ministries of Health. You are all in our prayers. Please keep safe.
“To our dear Pensioners and Senior Citizens, these are perilous times in world history. Corona Virus alias Covid-19 is taking over the world. We are a vulnerable group, especially the 60 and above. This is a prayer for you all to stay safe. Keep away from crowds,” she prayed.
