Nestle, Lagos Business School Sustainability Centre Training For Journalists Commences April 11
The annual training programme jointly organized by Nestle Nigeria and Lagos Business School Sustainability Centre for journalists covering health, business and environment begins tomorrow, Monday, April 11, 2022.
This year’s training as a result of increase in the number of participants, has been split into two streams to accommodate more journalists.
The first stream starts on Monday April 11 and ends on April 26, 2022; while the second stream will begin on May 16 and ends on May 27, 2022.
Nestle and LBS Sustainability Centre “Advancing Nutrition, Health and Environmental Awareness through the Media” is a three-week Online intensive training for journalists reporting health, business and environment.
The programme is aimed at sharpening journalists skills on how to report their beats effectively and accurately in educating the public on the importance of eating nutritious food, living a healthy life as well as protecting the environment.
According to organizers, Advancing Nutrition, Health and Environmental Awareness through the Media (Online Programme) by Nestlé Nigeria Plc and LBS Sustainability Centre is designed to enhance your understanding and reporting on Nutrition, Health, Environment, and other sustainable development issues in Nigeria.
As the programme commences, participants are asked to maintain high standards behavior.

The participants are assured of a wonderful learning experience during the training.

Advancing Nutrition, Health and Wellness (NHW) Through the Media training program as it was called then was developed in 2019 by Nestlé Nigeria and the Lagos Business School (LBS), to bridge the gap in nutrition health and wellness reporting in the media
In 2021, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, over 100 journalists participated across Nigeria and some other countries of the world.
This year, according organizers, over 300 journalists across the globe covering these three beats are expected to take part in the training.
The time table released by the organizers showed that the programme will start on Monday with opening remarks by Victoria Uwadoka , Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Nestle Nigeria.
Oreva Atanya Lead Facilitator and Manager LBS Sustainability Centre , will take on Course Introduction and roadmap; Theresa Akpoveso , Senior Associate Sustainability Centre will take the Media professionals through Learning Management System – Orientation Session.
There will be a discourse on “Achieving the SDGs and Nigeria Agenda 2050 through Business and Shared Value,” and to discuss the topic include Oreva Atanya – Lead Facilitator and Manager, LBS Sustainability Centre, Lekan Fatodou – Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals & Investment to the Governor of Lagos State, and Vuyo Lutseke – Director, Stakeholder Relations, Shared Value Africa Initiative (SVAI).
