NDIC Restates Commitment In Protecting Depositors’ Funds, Maintaining Confidence In Financial System

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mr. Bello Hassan, has reiterated the Corporation’s commitment in protecting depositors’ funds and maintaining confidence in the financial system.

Bello Hassan who led NDIC delegation to the 17th Annual Banking and Finance Conference held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, said this while speaking to journalists on the sideline of the conference.

The NDIC MD/CEO, highlighted the corporation’s commitment in protecting depositors’ funds and maintaining confidence in the financial system.

He noted that “The NDIC plays a crucial role in ensuring stability and security in the banking system.”

The event brought together dignitaries from various sectors, including banking, finance, and government.

In attendance were representatives of presidents from the Federal Republic of Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria.

Also present were notable figures such as Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and UBA Group, and Prof. Pius Deji Olanrewaju, President and Chairman of the Council, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

NDIC CEO was in attendance with other dignitaries, including Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, and Oliver Alawuba, GMD/CEO of UBA Group and Chairman of the Body of Banks’ CEOs.

The conference provided a platform for discussions on various topics related to banking and finance.
