NDIC Commences Payment To Depositors Of 179 Closed MFBs, 4 PMBs
The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), the official Liquidator of the 179 Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and four Primary Mortgage Banks (PMBs) whose licenses were recently revoked by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said it has commenced payment to all affected depositors who provided alternative bank accounts.
This was contained in the Corporation’s news release posted on its official website.
According to the statement NDIC wishes to inform all affected depositors that payment is ongoing for those who provided alternate bank accounts during the verification exercise.
It called on Depositors without alternate accounts in commercial banks and those yet to be verified, to visit the nearest NDIC office with proof of account ownership and verifiable means of identification for their verification and payment.
“Depositors with required documents can also visit the claims page on our website: www.ndic.gov.ng/claims/ to download the verification form. Completed forms and supporting documents should be scanned to claimscomplaints@ndic.gov.ng.” NDIC stated in its statement.
The Corporation urged Depositors with amounts above insured limits of Two Hundred Thousand Naira for microfinance banks and Five Hundred Thousand Naira for Primary Mortgage bank to note that the Corporation has commenced sales of assets and recovery of debts owed the closed banks to pay their balances.
