NCRIB Area Committees elect new officers…..…Mourns Senator John Shagaya
The Area Committee of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) have elected new executive members to run the affairs of the committee for a one year tenure.
In elections that were conducted by the National Secretariat of the Council on different dares and venues, the trio of Segun Kafaru, Adeyemi Aderemi and Sunny Awugu have retained their seats as Chairmen of Lagos, Western and Port Harcourt Area Committees of the Council respectively.
It is expected that the chairmen in collaboration with other executive members will deploy their time, brain and brown to serve their various Area Committees and hold in high esteem the tenet of office to the betterment of Insurance Broking profession in Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech at the investiture ceremony held in Port Harcourt, the Chairman of Port Harcourt Area Committee, Mr. Sunny Awugu, called for collaboration of Insurance Brokers within his area of jurisdiction just as he appreciated his colleagues for trust reposed in him in the last one year since he became the Chairman.
Other executive members elected at the Port Harcourt Area Coommittee included, Vice Chairman, Mrs. Ezenwa Chinwe; General Secretary, Mr. Joseph Olayemi; Treasurer, Mr. Obidaian; Joshua; Financial , Mrs. Nkoye Blessing; Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Amuka Chidinma and Ex-Officio, Mrs. Amaka Ogbedaigo.
Meanwhile, NCRIB has joined other Nigerians to mourn the demise of the former ECOMOG Commander and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator John Shagaya.
He was until his sad demise in a motor accident the Chairman of Jonas Insurance Brokers.
In a letter of commiseration by the Council to the deceased family, the Executive Secretary, Mr. Fatai Adegbenro noted that the Council “received with devastation news of the painful demise of Senator John Shagaya.
The President, Mr. Shola Tinubu, the Board and the entire Council members wish to use this medium to commiserate with the Board, Management and staff of Jonas Insurance Brokers over the sad incident.”
He stated that “It is noteworthy and delightful that the distinguished Senator and Army General served not only the Nigerian nation in different capacity as a soldier, politician, technocrat and fine community man, but also contributed significantly to the growth of the Council and Insurance Broking profession as Chairman Jonas Insurance Brokers.
He was always humble and ready to help at all times. His departure would be sorely missed.”
Adegbenro urged the family and those he left behind to solace in the fact that the deceased lead a life of selfless devotion to God and humanity.
