NAICOM, NSITF Collaborate To Deepen Insurance Penetration
The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), have gone into partnership to deepen insurance penetration in Nigeria.
The partnership was consumated during the Courtesy visit by the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer, NAICOM, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye at the NSITF Hqtrs in Abuja yesterday.
According to a statement by NAICOM, the purpose of the visit was to discuss areas of collaboration between the Commission and the NSITF to deepen insurance penetration, harness the benefits of both conventional and social insurance, data sharing and analytics, capacity building and training, creating awareness and advocacy, and driving compliance with Insurance requirements, amongst others.
The two agencies, the statement stated, agreed to set up a joint committee to drive the collaboration, harness the contribution of insurance generally to national output and also boost growth potentials of the insurance sector in Nigeria.
