Mater Ecclesiae College Graduates 26 As Pioneer Set
A Catholic school in Epe, Lagos State, Mater Ecclesiae College, has graduated its pioneer set of 26 students during its maiden graduation recently.
The College Administrator, Fr. John Njorteah, said the maiden graduation was tagged: ‘Harvest of First Fruits’.
The Proprietor of the College, Most Rev. Alfred Martins, during the holy Mass, had charged the school leavers to be guided by the training they received from the college and be worthy ambassadors of their alma-mater.
Martins, who spoke through Msgr. Anthony Obanla, noted that the world needed more young people to bring positive difference to the society and urged the graduating students to do this with passion.
The Guest lecturer, Ms. Kaka Kekong advised them thus: “You must make your learning reflect in your compassion towards the poor and needy, commit your dreams to God and never rely on your strengths alone.”
In his valedictory speech, the best graduating student and first valedictorian, John Paul Obioha, thanked everyone who was instrumental to their training during the years of formation.
Highlights of the event were induction of the school leavers into Alumni Association of Mater Ecclesiae College by Chairman of the College Board, Dr Greg Ero, and cutting of the graduation cake.
Also present at the ceremony were Fr. Francis Ike, Parish Priest, Church of the Assumption, Falomo, parents and parishioners of the Church of the Assumption, Falomo, among others.
