What do you have to tell us about today?
So many were done and achieved today in service to humanity. One of the clubs under Region Six was able to donate borehole to a community in Ogudu. Secondly, we were at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) to donate some medical items. At Maryland, we have donated Traffic booth to Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) to enhance their duties.
We were also at Ikeja Primary School to donate a Sick Bay and First Aid because these are very important. We are doing this to save lives. If you were there today, you would have seen the way the place was transformed. Why we are doing all these is because we serve humanity. We are passionate about serving the people and making the needy and the less privilege in our community happy.
What motivates the Lions into doing all these?
We are doing what we are passionate about and each time we are able to put smiles on the faces of the needy and less privilege in our community, no how no how their spirit will pray for us. We are happy doing what we are doing. It gives us pleasure and happiness doing what we are doing.
What do you have to tell other Nigerians who are financially blessed but lacks the heart of giving?
For other Nigerians out there, let us try and help one another especially the needy and the less privilege in our midst. There are so many needy in our community that are in needs. There are people with all kinds of problems in our communities; for the wealthy in our society, let’s look out for a need and meet and if you don’t know the type of need you can meet; you can come and join us. In every 12 calendar month in a year, we have 12 different projects that you can key in to save humanity.

What makes you to join Lions Club?
Serving humanity was part of the activities I was trying to be part of when I was preparing for retirement toward the end of my working days. Ordinarily, people used to refer to me as someone with a lion’s heart. I didn’t actually know what that means until I attended a Lions event which later led to joining them and since I joined, for me it’s been a great opportunity and a platform for service to humanity.
What are the benefits you derive since joining the Lions
Lionism is about service and impacting lives and impacting lives is one aspect of me that whenever I am able to do it, it makes me feel great and when I go to sleep, I sleep soundly like a baby. Any time, any day that I had anything to do that has any positive impact on humanity, it gives me joy, inner joy that cannot be bought with money.
As Lions we are doing what we are doing because we are passionate about rendering services to our people especially those who are in need. We are not actually doing it because of what we stand to gain, but how we can help others to gain from us and whenever I am able to give, I have inner peace and because of this God continue to show me mercies and shower his blessings on me. I have also found that giving gives me fulfillment.
What advice do you have for other Nigerians?
I want to use this opportunity to enjoin other Nigerians to learn how to give because as the Yuruba adage said, “the hand that gives remains on top.”

Can you tell us why you join Lions Club?
I am actually a philanthropist, immediately I found the platform, Lions Clubs International as a good base for philanthropist and humanitarian activities, I keyed into it by joining one of the clubs in Ikeja which is Ikeja Uniqu Lions Club. And today, I have found fulfillment in touching lives and helping humanity.
What do you have to say to other young Nigerians like you yet to come to terms with importance of service to humanity?
What I want our fellow Nigerians out there yet to identify with the need to touch lives is that the hand that gives is always on top. The Bible says “the hand that gives tend to plenty but the hand that withholds tend to poverty.” The reason we do what we do is to meet the needs of the needy and the less privilege in our society; not because we have so much. Yes! But the reason that some of us have to find a platform like this is because when we come together as a body we can reach out to a large community through a bigger project than what one individual can do. That is the reason most of us are in Lions Clubs International. If you are passionate about doing humanitarian services why not join us? The more, the merrier! The more the bigger! The more, the better and the wider the population you can reach.
