Ikeja Exclusive Lions Club embarks on Clean up exercise, donates sanitation equipment
Ikeja Exclusive Lions Club has embarked on clean up exercise and donated sanitation equipment as part of its Environmental Protection activity.
The exercise tagged “Clean Up Hour and Donation of Waste Bin” which is the Club’s first activity held yesterday, 23rd July, 2020 at Ipodo Market in Ikeja where giant waste disposal bin was donated to the market community.
Speaking while presenting the Waste Bin to the representative of the market community, the District 404B2 Nigeria District Governor, Lion Ademola Adesoye, said the the donation was part of Lions Clubs’ objectives to support government’s efforts in giving better life to its citizens.
He called on all community dwellers to imbibe the culture of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness in order to flatten the curve of of COVID-19 and urged the market men and women to make good use of the waste disposal bin to improve the market’s sanitation situation.
Earlier in her opening remarks , the service chairperson, Lion Esther G. Oderhohwo enlightened all present on the need for a clean environment in the community.
Also speaking, the club president, Lion Attkhuetie Benedicta while addressing the market community implored them to use the bin properly. and assured everyone of more service to our community.
The representative of the market Union who took possession of the waste disposal bin thanked Lions Club for their kind gesture and promised that the disposal bin will be put to proper use.
In attendance also was the first vice district governor, Lon Kayode Oshinuga and the DG’s entourage.
