Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club President Urges Members To Work In Oneness Of Purpose

The new President of Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, Lion Ayoola David Sogbesan, has called on members of the club, to work in oneness of purpose, in order to increase the visibility of the club to the wider community.
Lion Ayoola who made the call in his acceptance speech as the fourth President of the club, also pledged his determination to work in close cooperation and collaboration with all members by respecting their ideas irrespective of their diversity for the overall interest of the club.
The new president, who pledged his unalloyed commitment to the success of the club, said he will do everything within his capacity to move the club forward.
“In my capacity as the President, our club will continue its distinguished tradition of service to our community viz-a-viz global and local service framework,” he said.
He said this service year (2019-2020) the club will organize effective service activities in the following focus areas: Diabetes, Environmental, Hunger Relief, Paediatric Cancer and vision amongst other identified community needed projects and activities that will promote community satisfaction and sustainability.
He said this year the club will ensure Transparency, Integrity and Accountability; Aggressive Membership Growth; Team Work; Recognition and Awards to foster Commitment; Publicity; Sponsoring of Cataract Surgeries; Donations to Orphanages and Ailing persons and execution of Community led Legacy projects amongst others.
Earlier in his valedictory speech, the out-going President of the Club, Lion Oluseun Onigbinde, gave the scorecard of his one year tenure (2018-2019) Lions year.
During the period under review, he said the club was able to embark on some community-oriented projects as well as support the less privileged in the society.
“Our outreach included donation or materials to less privileged homes, support for the needy through distribution of food items in Abeokuta during our club retreat.
We also planted trees in line with the Lions Club mandate to push the frontiers of afforestation. Our work included donation of materials to the specially challenging youths in Mushin. Our projects spanned from human empowerment to leadership support and environmental sustainability,’ he said.
Lions Oluseun said the club was well represented at the Annual District Convention in Abeokuta, adding that the club has continued to attract young professionals who are interested in serving the community and impacting lives.
“i am glad that we have kept faith with the club, putting forward act of selfless service that have assured others to believe in our cause. We have conducted the club meetings with inclusion, believing in the right of members to share ideas to lead us forward. We have also ensured full payment of dues to the International and National Districts, thereby proving our viability as a group of committed friends and young professionals.
He thanked all members and friends who supported him in one way or other during his tenure as President of Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, just as he expressed confidence in the ability of the new President to move the club to lofty heights.
