How I Escape From Kidnappers Den -Ex FCT Minister
By Jonathan Ipaa, Abuja
Three of the eight kidnappers of the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Senator Solomon Ewuga are cooling off in the police net. Thanks for the unrelenting hot chase from the police in Nasarawa state.
This cheering news was revealed to the visiting Delegation of the Middle Belt Journalists Forum, MBJF in Abuja yesterday while playing host to the Journalists by the freed politician.
“The good news is that three of my Abductors are arrested by the police”, Sen Ewuga revealed.
The former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state told the visiting Journalists that his kidnappers waylaid his car late evening last September 31st along Gudi while returning to Abuja from Akwanga.
While his driver was able to escape, he and the orderly were captured by the hoodlums and taken into the nearby bushes for torture.
“They hit me on my buttocks severally and collected my drugs bag. My orderly wasn’t spared because they had mistaken him to be the boss”.
“The brevity of my driver and the entire setting of the fateful journey by God Almighty saved the day. I could have been killed because these heavily armed guys were brutal”, he narrated.
Adding, “I heard bullet sounds behind the car thus asking the driver who I was seated next to in the rear, the next thing we saw were eight men carrying AK47 rifles.
They ordered us out of the car and waylaid us into the bushes. Because of my health, it became difficult for them to move me like others. They used a wheelbarrow to push me but again, the bad terrain was a huge hindrance.
Thirty minutes after the escape of my brave drivers, soldiers from Governor Abdullahi Sule’s nearby Gudi farm drove nearby thus scaring the hoodlums farther into the bushes leaving me behind.
I have to scroll a long distance to access the main road before a sympathising Okada rider gave me a ride.
I thank God for everything that happened, these guys could have wasted us,” Ewuga stated.
