Gov Sanwo-Olu, Dallass–Olusanya for 2024 Almond Special Recognition Awards
The Annual Almond Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite the biggest social platform of the Nigerian Insurance Industry is set to hold on the 1st of November at the Queens Park Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Awards was instituted in 2018 to reward the Change Makers, Innovators and Thought leaders who are making a difference in the various arms of the Industry in a bid to improve the acceptability of Insurance Products and Services amongst Nigerians.
While Insurance awareness and penetration is still low, Insurance Practitioners are putting in the work. This is evident in the Gross Premium Income of the Industry which crossed a Trillion Naira in 2023.
The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will receive the highest Award of the night which is the Special Recognition Award 2024.
The organizers in a Press Release signed by the CEO of Almond Productions Limited Ms. Faith Ughwode, said that, Lagos State over the years have blazed the trail when it comes to supporting the Insurance and Pensions Industry through annual budgetary allocations for the payment of Premiums and Pensions ahead of other States of the Federation and even the Federal Government in some cases.
“It takes a Visionary Leader to continue and improve on existing systems. Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu embodies vision and progress and we are glad to have him shine at the Awards this year,” Ughwode stated in the statement.
Also penciled for the Special Recognition Awards this year is the Doyenne of Insurance Broking Profession, Eighty – Five Year Old Mrs. Modupeola Dallass – Olusanya (Mama Gombot) who is still very active in mentoring young Insurance Professionals.
The 2024 Awards tagged #Reinvent Edition will parade top rated performances from MC Akproko, MC Ajele, Kelvin Sapp and a host of others. Music Headliners are Goya Menor and Terry G, while Nedu of Wazobia will host the Awards.
In line with the tradition of the Awards in extending invitation to Insurance Practitioners in the West African Sub-Region, the President of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) will be among the Guest Presenters this year all the way from Banjul, The Gambia.
Also expected as Guest Presenters are top Government Functionaries and Critical Stakeholders from other key sectors of the economy.

The 2024 Almond Insurance Industry Awards Voting Web closed on the 20th of September with over Ten Thousand votes cut-across all arms of the Insurance Industry, Insurance Customers both Corporate and Individuals.
The unprecedented number of votes recorded this year is a growing testament to the Awards Integrity and Popularity amongst Stakeholders.
