FSD Africa Partners NAICOM, Trains 70 Personnel On Risk-Based Capital

Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSD Africa) has partnered the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) as well as trained 70 personnel of the Commission on Risk-Based Capital (RBC).
The training took place during the courtesy visit of the Managing Director Financial Sector Deepening Africa Mr. Mark Napier along with his Management Team on the Commissioner for Insurance Nigeria Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas in Abuja recently.
The visit and the two weeks training facilitated by FDS Africa official are part of the key component of a partnership between FSD Africa and NAICOM.
The key benefits of the training for NAICOM include deepening the knowledge of NAICOM workers on Risk Based Capital framework and toolkit; incorporation of Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) Principles into their operations and development of innovation portrait that would facilitate the culture of innovation in the industry.
According to the statement yesterday by NAICOM made available to journalists, sequel to the partnership entered into by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) with FSD Africa, A Risk Based Capital (RBC) training for seventy (70) staff of NAICOM has been on for two (2) weeks and ends on Friday 28 July, 2023.
The training, according to the statement, was facilitated by Mr. Elias Omondi Principal in charge of innovation at FSD Africa.
Other benefits of the partnership for the Nigerian Insurance Industry, the statement added include development of Risk Based Capital framework and toolkit; incorporation of Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) Principles into our operations and development of Innovation portrait which would facilitate innovation for the regulator and insurance operators amongst others.
