Faces At 2022 International Day Of Education Powered By YOD, Old Students Of Coker Senior Secretary School
The 4th edition of the International Day of Education took place yesterday all over the world with the theme “Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation”.
In Lagos State, Youth Orientation For Development, YOD, (a UNESCO NGO) in conjunction with Coker Secondary School Alumni Association celebrated the day with a special event at Coker Secondary School, Lagos, to sensitize the students on the importance of Education.
Chairmen of the occasion was the Hon. Commissioner for Education, Lagos State, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, who was represented by Mrs Adebambo Mosunmola Rita, Director (Non Governmental Organisation).
Also Present at the event included Ambassador Emmanuel Ejiogu, President, Youth Orientation for Development (YOD); President, Coker Secondary School Alumni Association/first Head Boy of the school, Mr Canice Opara; Mrs Sanni Adepeju Idowu, Principal, Coker Senior Secondary School, and some old students of Coker Secondary School.
The occasion featured awards for best-performing students in both the Junior and senior category of the School as well as cultural dance display by the students.
The International Day of Education was proclaimed on January 24 by the United Nations General Assembly In celebration of the role of Education for peace and development.
