Enyinna Okpara Joins Nahco-Aviance Board As Non-Executive Director
Following the clearance by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), the shareholders have finally allowed Eyinna Ugwuchi Okpara to transit to the company’s board as a Non-Executive Director.
The anti-graft agency had in 2016 put a lid on Okpara’s ambition via the caution placed on him, Awhua Resources and Retired Brigadier-General Umar Mohammed’s investment at the Nahco-Aviance.
Documentations from the EFCC showed that Eyinna Okpara, together with Brigadier-General Umar Mohammed had since 2016 been under the probe of the agency for allegations bordering on frauds and corrupt practices.
The EFCC probe according to the documents covered stockbroking firms, Registrars, banks, CAC, Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC), Code of Conduct Bureau amongst others
In the letter referenced CR:3000/EFCC/ABJ/CMIF/TA/VOL.2/43 and dated 24th October 2016, the anti-graft commission notified the managing director of Nahco Aviance, with attention to the Company secretary of its investigation of Awhua Resources Ltd, Umaru Mallam Mohammed and Eyinna Okpara.
Consequently, the shareholders stood against the nomination to the position until the clearance by the EFCC lifted the Caution order on Awhua Resources.
Bello Abdullahi, the company secretary said the announcement follows the ratification by the shareholders at the 40th Annual General Meeting of Aviation Handling firm.
According to the disclosure, Okpara, a retired Captain of the Nigerian Army had a stint as a Logistics Manager with the Dangote Group.

Company Plc held 30th July, 2021, the Company ratified the appointment of Enyinna Ugwuchi Okpara as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from that date.
Born 27th March 1960, he has the following academic qualifications: PhD (Accounting), M.Sc. (Accounting), MBA (Finance), B.Sc. (Accounting), PGD (Financial Management), HND (Accounting) and NCE (Business Education), and Okpara is currently the Dean of College of Social and Management Sciences, Wellspring University, Benin City.
