Consolidated Hallmark Presents Awards To Winners Of Essay Competition

With them are Mrs. Yetunde Ilori (Director-General, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs. Abimbola Tiamiyu, Director-General of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, (CIIN), and Dr. (Mrs.) Yeside Oyetayo, the Rector of the College of Insurance & Financial Management (CIFM).
As Consolidated Hallmark Insurance is currently receiving entries from various institutions of higher learning across the country for the year 2021 of its Essay Competition, the Company has presented awards to winners of the 10th (2020) edition of the competition in Lagos.
The winners for 10th edition of the competition include Miss Olatunji Rebecca of Joseph Ayo Babalola University who emerged the best overall for 2020; followed by Mr. Obikwere Victor from Imo State University as second and Miss Oyefejo Olaseni from Lagos State Polytechnic as third.
The Group Managing Director of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Eddie Efekoha, during the presentation of awards to winners of the essay competition in Lagos expressed delight that the Essay competition has now clocked 10 years, and making significant impact in the insurance industry.
While affirming the Company’s commitment in grooming talents for the insurance industry through its Annual Essay Awards for Tertiary Institutions, Efekoha said, “We have continued to execute the programme, for the entire industry as some of the previous winners have been employed in the industry and creating value for their respective organizations.”
Efekoha commended the assessors for adhering to high standards, ensuring that the very best emerged winners over the years.
The winners of the 2020 edition were announced during the awards ceremony that had in attendance, dignitaries including Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, Director-General, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs. Abimbola Tiamiyu, Director-General of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, (CIIN), as well as Dr. (Mrs.) Yeside Oyetayo, the Rector of the College of Insurance & Financial Management (CIFM).
Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, Director General of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) offered words of encouragement to the winners and urged them to make this achievement the least of all they will attain in life and appreciated the entire management and staff of CHI Plc for being a source of inspiration and creating the platform for students to embark on research and express themselves through the competition.
In her remarks, Mrs. Oladotun Adeogun, the Chairperson of the Essay Awards Committee stated that the Essay Competition received a total number of 24 entries from students of tertiary institutions in 300 levels or HND 1 and above studying Insurance or Actuarial Science.
Their research topic was titled: “Financial technology disruption in the Banking Sector and lessons for the Insurance Industry, A case study of ‘Opay’ (Mobile Bank)”.
She said the entries were thought-provoking and insightful and expressed gratitude to the independent panel of assessors for their immense contribution towards selecting the various winners based on the set standards.
