Members of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) have been encouraged to attend the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Conference commencing from today in Lagos, Nigeria.
NCRIB President gave the encouragement at the September edition of the Council Members’ Evening which was sponsored by Unitrust Insurance Company and held recently in Lagos.
She encouraged the members to take advantage of the proximity of the venue to attend the conference commencing from today at the Eko Hotels and Suites. The event will end on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
According to her, “I like to encourage distinguished members to take advantage of the proximity to attend the Conference. The highlight of the event will be the installation of Mr. Tope Smart, immediate past chairman of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and the Group Managing Director of Nem Insurance Plc, as the President of the Organisation.”
The theme of the conference is: “REBUILDING AFRICA’S ECONOMY – THE INSURANCE PERSPECTIVE”
The Chairman of the AIO Local Organising Committee (LOC), and the Managing Director of NSIA Insurance, Mrs Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, said the conference is coming at a time when the coronavirus pandemic has affected economic activities in the African continent and several conferences across different markets have focused on the impact of COVID-19 on the industry from various perspectives.
She noted that the theme paper will attempt to look at broader issues of how insurance can contribute to and benefit from the efforts at rebuilding the African economy post-COVID, adding that “It is our hope and indeed expectation that participants will find the presentations enriching and derive value from attending the conference.”
