Aviation Minister Hold Talks With Boeing In US To Revamp Nigeria’s Aviation Sector

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, for a week-long high-level engagement with Boeing, the globally renowned aircraft manufacturer.

According to arise.tv, the minister was accompanied by CEOs of leading Nigerian airlines, marking a significant step toward revitalising Nigeria’s aviation sector.

The visit, which is at Boeing’s invitation, will extend to Seattle, Washington, as part of a comprehensive programme aimed at forging a deeper partnership between Boeing and Nigeria. The discussions are focused on improving the operational efficiency, safety, and overall business practices of Nigerian airline operators through collaboration with one of the world’s leading aviation giants.

A key highlight of the visit is the expected signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Working Together Agreement (WTA) between Boeing and the Federal Government of Nigeria. These agreements are set to usher in a new era of cooperation, offering Nigerian airlines unprecedented access to Boeing’s extensive technical resources.

The partnership is anticipated to deliver specialised training in airline operations, enhanced safety protocols, and opportunities for introducing new or pre-owned Boeing aircraft into the Nigerian market.

Speaking on the significance of the visit, Keyamo expressed optimism, stating, “This engagement with Boeing represents a significant step forward in our efforts to revitalise the aviation sector in Nigeria. By working closely with Boeing, we aim to equip our airlines with the tools and knowledge they need to compete on a global scale, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.”
