Atiku in UK For Meeting, Say Aides
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is expected to fly to London today for a scheduled meeting tomorrow and Wednesday.
His Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, who announced this in a tweet yesterday, said the PDP presidential candidate is on British Government’s invitation to London.
“For the avoidance of doubt, H.E @atiku, Presidential candidate of the @OfficialPDPNig and former VP of Nigeria, 1999-2007, will be arriving London on Monday, January 9, for meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday on the invitation of the British Government,” the tweet read.
The Director of Public Affairs of the PDP Presidential Campaign Management Council, Senator Dino Melaye, also dismissed the report on Atiku’s purported illness and his treatment in Dubai and London.
In a reaction yesterday, Melaye said Atiku was 100 per cent fit and in sound health.
The former Kogi West senator described the report of Atiku’s illness and treatment in Dubai and London as a ruse and urged Nigerians “to disregard the lies of unrepentant liars”.
He said: “Disregard the lies of unrepentant liars. Atiku is 100 per cent fit and in super form, health-wise.
The British Government invited the leading presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, just like they had invited Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi, earlier. Nigerians should henceforth disregard drug-induced statements propelled by Ikebe super-like online medium.”
Sahara Reporters reported yeterday that Atiku was flown from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to London in the United Kingdom (UK) for medical attention.
