Anti-Graft War: NSCDC Commends EFCC
The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has commended the effort of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the fight against corruption.
This was contained in a news release by the Commission’s Media & Publicity Department posted on its official website.
The Commandant, Basil Igwebueze stated this on July 5, 2023 when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal Commander of the, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Ahmed Ghali in his office.
While asking for the sustenance of the existing synergy between the agencies, Igwebueze expressed the corps’ indebtedness to the EFCC for the grooming and mentorship they received from the Commission.
“I want to continue to tap from your wealth of experience and solicit that you don’t relent to continue to guide us so that we don’t derailed in the discharge of our duties.
“ I am here to say thank you so much for what you have done so far and ask you to continue to assist us so that we will have a more robust relationship between the agencies”, he said.
Responding, Ghali said that EFCC and NSCDC have done a lot for the country but must continue to do more to achieve the purpose for which both Agencies were established.
“We have no other country than this and this work that we are doing is one; we are serving the same purpose under one umbrella. So, we have no other option but to work together, to collaborate. Any time you need our assistance, we are ready, and any time we need yours, we will not hesitate to request for such”, he said.
