AM Best And WAICA Partner To Hold Webinar On Stress Testing In Re/Insurers On September 17
AM Best, a leading specialist insurer rating agency, and the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), have concluded plans to hold a webinar on the theme “Stress Testing in Re/Insurers? Stress Testing to Improve Insurers’ Responses to New and Emerging Risks”.

Commenting on the webinar, the Host who is also the Secretary General/CEO, WAICA, Davis Iyasere, highlighted the importance of stress testing for insurance and reinsurance companies.
He stated that “Stress testing is vital for (re)insurance companies to assess their resilience to adverse scenarios and is an important factor in assessing their financial strength.
“A proactive approach can enable companies to avoid major losses and better understand their risk profile.”
He said during the sessions, AM Best senior analysts will discuss how stress testing is considered within the insurance credit rating process and review common stress testing that is performed.
Topics for discussions, according to Davis include:The importance of stress testing for re/insurance firms; What analysts are paying close attention to when trying to determine a company’s financial strength and its resilience and The value of a proactive approach to risk.
