Ahead 2023: Politician in Kwara State Woos Constituents With Cash empowerment
Ahead of decisive politicking coming up in 2023 in Kwara State, All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the 2019 general elections in Kwara state, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, is not leaving anything to chance after presenting N6 million as empowerment seed money to 12 persons among members of his constituencies in the state.
The event, speaks volume of the level of political emancipation in the state where politicians of the ruling party can embark on such an empowerment Program.
Speaking at a raffle draw organized in Ilorin, the state capital, to select 12 winners that were drawn from four local government areas in the Ilorin Emirate, Director General of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, Alhaji Adebayo Ambali, said that the philosophy behind the empowerment programme was to reward loyalty and commitment among Mallam Mustapha’s supporters through a unique way of making them successful entrepreneurs as well as employers of labour.
The Guardian reported that Alhaji Ambali, who said that beneficiaries were drawn from four local government areas of the state including Ilorin South, Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Asa, added also that a sum of N500,000 was presented to each beneficiary in two instalments.
He also said that another set of four beneficiaries from each local government areas would be selected in the next two days among the Local Government Coordiantors who have dedicated themselves to the cause of the APC in Kwara State.
“The 2021 empowerment programme, tagged Soliu Mustapha loyalists lucky dip is aimed at making entrepreneurs out of the beneficiaries as well as making them givers instead of people that would always expect to receive from some other people in the society.
It is also aimed at making the winners/beneficiaries employers of labour even with many apprentices under them. It’s meant to be seed capital that’s expected to yield bountifully for future prosperity”, he said, adding that the beneficiaries would be monitored for proper utilization of the fund.
“Mallam Saliu Mustapha is setting the pace in political loyalty.
“Loyalty is not one-way, it’s two.
“If the followers are loyal and committed enough to the political leadership, the leadership too should reciprocate this by always looking out for his followers the sustainable empowerment.”

“He attracts employment opportunities for our members and their kids, attracts contracts at both state and federal level from time to time, and now this cash-for-business empowerment programme done through a very competitive and transparent process,” Ambali added.
