Bulls re-take equity market, index up by N3bn
Investment in the nation’s equity market yesterday closed higher marginally, gaining N3 billion.
Specifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.20 per cent to N14.814 trillion from N14.811 trillion reported the previous day.
The NSE All Share Index also grew by 6.55 basis points to 28344.04 points from 28337.49 traded on Monday.
Investors exchange 535.831 million shares valued at N5.019 billion in 4498 deals against 369.177 million shares worth N5.060 billion in 4750 deals.
Stanbic IBTC led gainers table appreciating by N1.50 kobo to close at N44.00, Nigerian Breweries followed with a gain of N0.50 kobo to close at N49.10 kobo, International Breweries added N0.41 kobo to close at N4.70 kobo, Eterna gained N0.39 kobo to close at N4.38 kobo, Cadbury Nigeria PLC gained N0.10 kobo to close at N7.25 kobo
On the contrary, Guaranty Trust Bank topped losers chart dropping by N0.75 kobo to close at N29.55 kobo, Custodian Investment trailed with a loss of N0.25 kobo to close at N5.00, Etranzact fell by N0.23 kobo to close at N2.12 kobo, Africa Prudential dipped by N0.21 kobo to close at N5.39 kobo while United Bank for Africa declined by N0.20 kobo to close at N6.60 kobo.
