PTAD pays three batches of 167 NAHCO Ex-workers final entitlements
The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has paid another set of 167 ex-workers of the Nigeria Aviation Handing Company (NAHCO) their one-off final entitlements.
The detail of the number of NAHCO ex-workers who benefited from the payments as published on the Directorate’s website, were made in three batches – batch 7: 65, batch 8: 44 and batch 9: 58.
These were made in the month of September.
The payments, according to PTAD is in continuation of the payment of one-off severance benefit to the ex-workers of the aviation handling company.
The PTAD Executive Secretary, Dr. (Mrs) Chioma Ejikeme, said the Directorate is committed to resolving pension matters as it affects the retirees as well as ensures the timely payment of their entitlements.
While speaking to journalists to mark her one year in office in Abuja recently, Dr Ejikeme reiterated her Directorate’s determination to continue to put smiles on the faces of retirees through prompt payment of their pensions.
She said in the last one year of her leadership in the Directorate, PTAD has paid a total of over N96 billion across all the Operational Departments.
“Between July 2019 and August 2020, PTAD paid a total of over N96 billion across all the Operational Departments as follows: The sum of over N77 billion was paid as monthly pensions payments to 244,643 pensioners as at July 2020, while 87, 842 pensioners were paid arrears and gratuities of over N19 billion. Similarly, the sum of over 670 million was paid to 418 Next of Kin of deceased pensioners. The above payments include the balance of 33% arrears for the Parastatal Pensioners which had been outstanding since 2010 and was fully paid to the Pensioners and NoKs in November/December 2019,” she added.
