Sallah: Pray, heal the world of COVID-19, Ishaku urges Taraba Muslims
Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku, Sunday urged the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for Allah’s intervention to heal the world of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ishaku in a press statement signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Mr. Bala Dan Abu to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration and a copy made available to Blueprint, said his administration was ready and adequately equipped to protect the people against the coronavirus infection and will do whatever that was required to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.
The statement tasked the people of the state not to forget to play their own part as critical stakeholders by observing the international protocols of prevention such as regular washing of hands, use of alcohol-based sanitisers, wearing of face masks, avoiding handshakes and keeping strictly to the principles of social distancing.
The statement maintained that while the state had witnessed a lot of transformation in various sectors under his administration, the enemies of peace in the state were unrelenting in their bid to set the state back by causing crisis among the people.
The statement condemned the frequent inter-ethnic and communal clashes in some parts of the state, particularly in southern Taraba, which resulted to the death of many innocent people and the destruction of houses and crops.
The statement warned those who frequently resort to crisis and killings at the slightest provocation to stop forthwith as security agents had been mandated to deal decisively with such situation anywhere and anytime it occurs.
