We’ll continue military partnership to sustain peace – Zulum
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno has assured that the state is willing and faithful to the ongoing partnership with the Nigerian Army to effectively tackle insurgency in the state.
Governor Zulum stated this, Sunday while receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai and his team at the Government House Maiduguri on a Sallah homage.
The governor expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army, promising to support them with all the required logistics for them to succeed.
He said the fight against insurgency was everybody’s business and for the Nigerian Army to succeed everybody must support the fight and provide useful information and suggestions that will effectively tackle the menace.
He further thanked the COAS for his foresight and giant strides in establishing the Army University at Biu as well as the Command Secondary School Auno.
Earlier in his address, the COAS said he led his team to felicitate with the governor on the successful completion of the one month fasting.
Gen Buratai also said the Nigerian Army was currently providing runways in the state, noting that aviation access was very important in the counter-insurgency fight.
