LASUMBA Heritage Elects New Exco

Association of Alumni and managers of Lagos State University Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme (LASUMBA) Heritage, has elected new executives to pilot the affairs of the association in the next one year.
The election into various positions which was keenly contested by qualified members of the association took place at the weekend during the Association’s 2019 Reunion/Convention at Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.
Those elected included: National President, Mr. Kunle Jaiyesimi; First Vice President, Princess Ojo-Ede; Second Vice President, Mr. Remi Harris; Third Vice President, Mr. Oludamilare Kafisewon; General Secretary, Mr. Olugbenga Ogunmilua; Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Biola Oyende; Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Olorunwa Samuel and Financial Secretary, Mr. Fredrick Ebrimoni.
Others were Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr. Ekpenyong Emmanuel; Publicity Secretary, Mr. Samuel Asesanya; Editor in Chief, Mr. Jeremiah Adeyemi; Asst. Editor in Chief, Mr. Adebayo Fasusi; Social Secretary, Mr. Abayomi Akanni; Assistant Social Secretary, Mr. Kamal Wahaab; Welfare/Counseling Secretary, Mrs. Arinola Odunlami; Assistant Welfare/Counseling Secretary, Mrs. Titilayo Alli; Ex Officio 1, Immediate Past President, Mr. Moses Dare; Ex Officio 2, MBA President, Mr. Joseph Mfon and Ex Officio 3, AWIMBA President, Mrs. Adesola Shobande.
However, two positions are vacant namely: Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Publicity Secretary. Bye election will be conducted by the new Exco to fill the positions.
Speaking before the dissolution of the former cabinet, led by Mr. Moses Dare Peter, the Chairman, Reunion/Convention Committee, Dr. Tunde Odeyemi, called on the new executives to uphold the vision of the association, which he said is to establish and sustain for members of common background, highly vibrant association that will provide a network of intellectual contacts and social relationships.
He also called on members to take the advantage of the rich membership profile of the association to better their lot, adding that they (members) should be proud of LASUMBA Heritage.
Odeyemi noted that over 30,000 professionals and managers in public, private and military are members of LASUMBA, and called on members to spread the tentacles of their network in order to link up with all the members of LASUMBA all over the world.
This, he said, would enrich the membership profile and the fortune of LASUMBA.
Earlier in his account of stewardship, the immediate past president, Moses Dare Peter, who described his tenure as the longest in the history of LASUMBA, added that his administration came on board as a child of necessity.
Mr. Peter who listed some of the achievements of his administration to include among others the organization of 12th Annual Business Forum; celebration of LASUMBA Heritage Week; settlement of the issue of HND Certificate that some of the then graduating MBA student had with the management; creation of whatapps platforms for 2001-2010 MBA sets, said much would have been done but for the paucity of funds.
In his acceptance speech, the incoming president, Mr. Kunle Jaiyesimi, thanked the members for the confidence imposed on him and promised to do everything possible to move LASUMBA forward.
He solicited the support of all members, friends and associates the association, adding that “the tasks ahead are enormous. I cannot do it alone, but collectively, with determination, success shall smile on us.”
