Terrorism: Church will determine Nigeria’s Destiny not Buhari – Cleric
Terrorism has been identified as one of the satanic strategies to advance its evil agenda on earth.
Making the revelation while speaking to Christian Press Association of Nigeria (CPAN), at its monthly Breakfast Meeting in Lagos yesterday with the theme; “ Security in the Hands of Buhari,” General Overseer, Living Waters Unlimited Church, Rev. Ladi Thompson, called on the church to rise up to their responsibility of being the salt and light of the earth.
He said the destiny of Nigeria will be determined by the Church through their activities and not Buhari as a president of Nigeria even as he warned Christians and Muslims not to see terrorism as religious war.
The Cleric said Church has the powers to change the narrative of Nigeria, adding that whatever happens in Nigeria, Church permits it.
According to him, “The Boko Haram and Fulani invasion are things that the church should have foreseen. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The global resurgence of Islamism should not have come as a surprise at all.”
He said from now till the end of the world satan will keep marshalling all available forces to resist the divine agenda of the kingdom and it’s the only the solution to the advance of evil on the earth.
“Boko Haram and the Fulani militants are not the real enemy, most of them are deceived because they do not have the real answers to the question of life. The war that is engulfing Nigeria is actually a clever contention for the souls of men disguised in religious garbs.
Rev. Thompson called on the Nigerian Church to teach the people that God did not design change to roll in on the wheels of inevitability that the Church is God’s change agent and their agenda is to sensitise the earth.
“We need to emphasise the truth that the immediate future of Nigeria is not a fixed static but a dynamic that depends on many factors , stating that chief of all is the exercise of the human will by choice in one direction or the other.
“We must establish the truth that the devaluation of human worth as practice by boko haram is the worst form of corruption. Any government or political organ that denies such truths must be resisted and substituted by the force of righteousness,” he added.
He said the Nigerian Church must control the Nigerian narrative so that generations of children yet to be born will rejoice in their day.
On what exactly is happening, he said when the Nigerian church lost its edge by refusing to expand the frontiers of the kingdom in governance, we lost our voice in national affairs.
“The church refused to put its stamp all over the institution in Nigeria so the devil began to rally forces to take possession of the nation for the prince of darkness. There was a time when the Nigerian church was the moral compass of the nation and the society looked up to the church for virtuous dealings.’
He said what is happening in Nigeria is that they church has failed in their responsibility when they gave up its control of the morals and values of the society and things went from bad to worse.
Rev. Thompson said that why we are where we are today as a church is that the church has rejected divine wisdom and permitted a sensual wisdom to invade the church, noting that if we don’t address the root problem, the window of folly that enabled the boko haram will remain open.
He said the modern church all over the globe is where it is today primarily because we have permitted a very loose relationship to develop between the church and the modern state.
