Celebrations as Mercy Weds Gerald

Saturday, April 27, 2019, will remain a memorable day for the families of Chief Umebali of Ikwuano, Abia State, and Chief Ejiogu of Owerri, Imo State both of the Eastern part of Nigeria as the both families celebrated the traditional marriage of their children, Mercy and Gerald.
The well attended event which attracted friends, associates, colleagues, family members of the couple took place at Le Jardin Event Centre, a popular event centre in Ogba, Lagos State.
As early as 9.00 am, the venue of the event was ready; well arranged and colourfully decorated depicting the mode of the day.
By 11.30 am, guests who started to arrive the venue in groups, took their seats while waiting for the arrival of the bride and the groom for the commencement of the occasion.
The event which formally began at 2.58pm shortly after the arrival of the bride and the groom was jointly anchored by the Publisher of BrandMatter Magazine who is also a member of International Association of Lions Clubs, Lion (Miss) Blessing Modupe-Umebali, a Sister to the bride and Chief (Lion) Ejike Conti Owuamanam.
After the opening prayer by one of the Elders on the High Table, Mr. Matthew Onuocha, was the breaking of the Kolanut in fulfillment of the traditional rites and in showcasing the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the Igbos.
In accordance with the traditional norms of the Ndi Igbos, the Kolanut was shared accordingly.
Followed after this was the first appearance of the bride to greet the guests and the bride who was adorned in white lace materials in the company of her bridal troupe came in with a dance holding a traditional scepter went round the hall to greet the guests while also acknowledging cheers and accolades from friends and family members from the audience.
The high point of the event was the second appearance of the bride and this time was for her to locate the groom (her husband). When the bride entered the hall in the company of her bridal train, she went straight to where her parents sat. After collecting a glass of palm wine from her father, Mr. Jombo Mark Umabali, she began the journey of searching for the groom – She looked at the front, side-ward, middle and eventually located the groom at the back side of the hall and this made the guests stood up in celebrations.
When she brought the groom (her husband) to her parents Mr. & Mrs. Jombo Mark Umebali, they showered them with prayers of abundance blessings, fruitfulness, God’s protection, good health, long life and prosperity among others.
When the couple was called out to the dancing floor, both of them who were so excited thrilled the guests with exotic dancing steps even as the audience joined them.
Apart from the couple feeding each other as a sign of love and care for one another, there were also exchanged of rings and cutting of cake.
Aside from the music supplied by the official DJ for the event, DJ Rotwell, members of St. Augustine Choir (courtesy Blessing Umdbali) were on ground to give special Christian rendition to pep up the mode of the event as well as to bring down the presence of God.
Also on hand to showcase his artistic flair in support of the occasion was INNOCEE, a musical artiste who entertained the guests with special numbers which attracted laud ovation from the audience.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of himself and wife, Mercy, Gerald expressed joy and excitement over the success of the occasion, just as he thanked God and all who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the marriage, praying God to grant them safe journey back to their respective destinations.
Gifts of different types and sizes were also presented to the couple by their family members as well as friends, associates and colleagues.
