ACPN Buys N100 million Insurance Cover for Members
In line with the Health Care Professional Indemnity Insurance law under section 45 of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Act 1999, Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has bought a N100 million insurance cover for its members.
The National executive of ACPN said in post on their website that they bought the cover for interested Pharmacists in Community practice but fails to mention which of the insurance companies benefited from the contract.
Indemnity insurance is intended to protect pharmacy professionals, their reputation and their businesses in the event of claims by a patient suggesting that they have suffered loss as a result of non performance, breach of contract and/or professional negligence in the services provided.
Interested members wishing to benefit from the professional indemnity cover will pay the sum of five thousand naira as premium annually for the cover.
Professional indemnity is issued to indemnify professionals against legal liabilities or losses arising from claims over breach of duty in the course of executing their professional duties.
