Ijegun Joint CDA Football League: LOC Releases Quarter, Semi Final Fixtures
In continuation with the ongoing Ijegun Joint Community Development Area (IJCDA) football championship tagged “Ijegun Joint CDA Football League,” the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has released the fixtures for the quarter-final and semi-final matches coming up on Saturday and Sunday in various centres.
All the Quarter Final Matches scheduled for tomorrow Saturday 18th November, 2023 will start from 12 noon and will be played same day to determine the Teams that will qualify for Semi Finals.
The Quarter Final Teams and fixtures are as follows in accordance with the fixtures released by the LOC.
1. Ijegun Central Vs Irede
2. Afurugbin Vs Olorunsogo
3. Abanishe Vs Irewolede
4. Kudeyibu Vs Ifelodun
All matches will take place at the praying field.
According to a statement by the Ijegun Joint CDA Public Relations Officer, Engr. Ajasa Abiodun who is also a member of the IJCDA Programme Organising Committee, “All CDAs, Teams and Supporters should adhere to the LOC’s Rules and Regulations governing the Championship.
He said CDAs, Teams and Supporters who fail to adhere to the LOC’s rules and regulations governing the Championship will be sanctioned accordingly.
Engr Ajasa called on all the CDAs, Teams and Supporters to comply with the laid down rules and regulations governing the tournament in order not to incur the wrath of the LOC.
Some of the CDA team captains who spoke to our correspondent during his visit to their camping grounds said they are all ready for the quarter final.
According to our correspondent, in all the camping grounds visited the players were in very high spirits and were training very seriously.
The IJCDA PRO while speaking to our correspondent expressed satisfaction with the performance of all the participating teams, saying in football, the team that scores the highest number of goals is always the winner.
He charged those teams that could not make it above the preliminary round to go back and prepare for the next tournament.
Engr Ajasa thanked all the CDAs in Ijegun, members of the LOC for coming together to organize the football Championship with the aim of encouraging youths participation in community activities as well as enhancing unity amongst various CDAs in Ijegun.
He called on well-meaning individuals within and outside Ijegun community who are lovers of good thing and are passionate about youths empowerment and community development to identify with the Ijegun Joint CDA Football League by supporting the tournament.
He urged residents of the various participating CDAs to come out en-masse to Prying Field on Saturday and Sunday November 18 and 19, 2023 and support their teams to victory.
