APC South East Presidential Council Holds Inaugural Meeting, Witnesses Impressive Turnout
The APC Presidential Campaign Council, South East Directorate held its inaugural meeting on the 10th of January at the BON Hotel Sunshine, Enugu.
A statement signed by the Director, South East APC Presidential Campaign Council, Sharon Ikeazor Esq and made available for journalists said there was an overwhelming turnout of party leaders and party executives at the National, Zonal and State levels.
It said His Excellency, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology was there representing Ministers from the South East; Former Governor, Sullivan Chime was also in attendance representing former governors.
Other dignitaries at the event according to the statement included APC Zonal Vice Chairman South East, Mr Emma Eneukwu; APC National Auditor, Chief George Moghalu, APC Gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming election, Senator Hope Uzodinma as well as Senator Ayogu Eze, Chief Uche Ogah and Chief Sunny Ugwuogi were also in attendance.
“Also present were the APC National assembly candidates, Senator Ben Uwajumogu, Senator Andy Uba, Senator Julius Ucha, and Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo amongst others. Former Ministers present included Chief Emeka Wogu and Professor Chinwe Obaji,” it added.
It added: “State Chairmen from the five South Eastern States, National Working Committee members and political appointees including Mr Osita Okechukwu, Juliet Ibekaku, Princess Gloria Akobundu and South East Stakeholders resolved to ensure that Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari (GCON) wins overwhelmingly in the South Eastern region.
“They have also resolved the following: To reconcile, restore and reintegrate into our fold, our disenchanted members; to forget their differences from the fallout of party primaries and unite to win the presidential election and other elections for the APC and to work together as a formidable team to deliver Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari (GCON) in the forth coming election and change the negative narrative and perception in the South East as we will embark on a door to door and community to community campaign, showcasing Mr President’s achievements in the South East region.
“Finally, they also thanked Mr President for the confidence reposed in Sharon Ikeazor, their mother, daughter and sister who has a wide reach in the five eastern states and beyond,” the statement stated.
The Party Leaders, the statement noted pledged to support her in carrying out her task going by her successful antecedents as a former National Women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Member of the Board of Trustees of the APC.
