NSIA Insurance Promoting Inter-African Trade, Expanding Footprints With Growth-Driven Initiatives
Mrs Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, MD/CEO, NSIA Insurance
NSIA Insurance has continued to initiate and implement special projects and campaigns aimed at improving working relationships among its workforce and customers as well as promoting cohesion among the NSIA group.
Such initiative by NSIA Insurance is the ‘Project Act Together,’ launched recently. Apart from this, the company has also entered into partnerships with organizations in the area of manpower development to broaden staff horizons and enhance their capacity and capabilities to deliver best-in-class services to the company’s teeming customers and clients across Africa.
It has also implemented growth-driven campaigns such as the radio advertisement campaign aimed at growing the company’s bottom line and deepening insurance penetration.
In order to avoid linguistic limitations to businesses, especially with the introduction of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), NSIA Insurance Company Limited recently sealed a corporate training partnership with SPiiKA, the premier platform for the teaching and learning of the French language in Ghana. This arrangement, it was gathered, falls under SPiiKA’s newly launched ‘French for Business’ initiative.
As a multinational business active in 11 countries, with eight of them being Francophone, NSIA Ghana sees the need to, not only position the business, but her employees to operate comfortably across the sub-region.
It is common knowledge that French is the main or only language of instruction in schools in Benin, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo-Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo; eight of which are member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to which Ghana also belongs.
Interestingly, NSIA Insurance and their staff are very excited about the takeoff of the partnership with many staff already brushing up on their long-lost French words and phrases, at least the ones their memories can still salvage.
The realization that the ‘French for Business’ programme, unlike the mechanical and theory-based one learned in school, is focused on practical real-world communication, makes it all the more exciting for them and many staff are appreciative of the investment their company is making in their personal development.
In the same vein, NSIA Insurance Limited in Nigeria recently launched an initiative, tagged ‘Project Act Together.’
The initiative, it was learnt, is to improve working relationships and promote cohesion among NSIA subsidiaries in Africa.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, NSIA Insurance Limited (Nigeria), Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, said the project aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Agreement’s goal of promoting inter-African trade.
With this, according to her, customers can now freely conduct business in any of the 12 African countries where NSIA subsidiaries exist, regardless of their home base.
“Project Act Together is a great initiative that will improve working relationships and promote cohesion among NSIA subsidiaries in Africa. NSIA Nigeria will continue to instil the 12 common goals and connect its culture with the group,” she said.
She said NSIA Nigeria would continue to instil the 12 common goals and connect its culture with the group.
While thanking the company’s employees and insurance brokers for their support, Nwachukwu said the goal of the project is to develop a consistent mindset across all NSIA Group businesses, ensuring that each subsidiary will be well-positioned for success.
She said the individuals and subsidiaries within NSIA Group would combine their distinct talents to propel the business.
The project, Nwachukwu stated, began with a message from the Group President, Jean Diagou, on January 4, 2022.
NSIA Insurance Limited (Nigeria) is part of NSIA Participations, which is currently present in 12 African countries, namely Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo.
Poised to drive its growth and increase the company’s bottom line, in the above-stated countries, NSIA in 2021, launched a nationwide radio advertisement campaign in Nigeria.
The Value Campaign, it was gathered, offers the firm the opportunity to deliver a simple yet powerful message to a targeted group of consumers in an effort to increase awareness about the organization, and also to communicate effectively the value of their product offerings and tailor-made services.
The campaign was in two directions: “Insurance is” and “Insurance has a new look”.
‘Insurance is’ showcased insurance as a safety net, ensuring one does not have to pay out-of-pocket when an eventuality occurs. ‘Insurance has a new look’ focused on changing the perception about insurance in Nigeria. This direction speaks to the fact that NSIA Insurance is committed to providing its stakeholders with an excellent customer experience, throughout their journey.
The campaign ran for five weeks on various radio stations in Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Warri, Abuja, Onitsha, Asaba, Enugu, Kaduna, and Kano.
Speaking on the campaign, Managing Director/CEO of NSIA Insurance, Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, said: “We have a lot to offer to our customers in terms of value. We seek to help create, protect and preserve wealth. One way we can fulfil this is by keeping our potential and existing customers in the loop about our new products and how they can benefit from them.”
The MD/CEO further added that “Radio is ideal for targeting specific demographics and market segments. By choosing this medium, we can get to our potential customers, remain top of mind to our existing customers and ultimately change the perception about insurance in Nigeria.”
