Opeyemi Alaran
The National Association of Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has commiserated with the families of those who lost their loved ones during the recent attacks on Kaduna Airport and a Passenger train by bandits.
NACCIM’s Acting Director-General, Opeyemi Alaran, in a statement yesterday said ‘’It is with a sense of sadness that our Association, NACCIMA, reacts to news of bandit attacks on the Kaduna Airport and another on a passenger train; just a few of recent news reports of such attacks.
‘’Our sense of sadness is for the avoidable loss of lives, for which we commiserate with the family and loved ones of the deceased, as well as the humanitarian and economic damage that these attacks have caused,’’ he said.
Opeyemi who expressed worries about the number of losses said, ‘’As these quantifiable losses mount, the Association is further disturbed by the increasing connotation that our country is unsafe to do business.
‘’This is extremely concerning given that current economic realities require inflows of foreign direct investment for sustained economic growth.
‘’We advocate yet again for urgent and incisive policy implementation by the government at all levels to tackle this issue of insecurity.
‘’NACCIMA is on hand to partner with government to implement innovative solutions based on existing platforms, such as the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC),’’ he added.
