NAICOM Approves Appointment Of Ebunola New MD/CEO International Energy Insurance
The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the appointment of Ebunolu Oludele Ayeni as the new Managing Director of the International Energy Insurance Plc.
International Energy Insurance Plc had in January announced Ebunolu Ayeni, its Chief operating officer, as acting Managing Director, following resignation of erstwhile MD, Peter Irene.
The Insurance company noted that appointment which took effect from July 23, 2021, follows NAICOM’s approval.

“International Energy Insurance Plc wishes to notify Nigerian Exchange Limited, the Company’s shareholders and the investing public that the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the appointment of Ebunolu Oludele Ayeni as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of International Energy Insurance Plc with effect from July 23, 2021.
Ayeni is an accomplished Chartered Insurer, Risk analyst, administrator and management consultant equipped with the best track record in Executive Board roles and Management skills within. Insurance Industry, consulting, and academics for over thirty three (33) years.
He holds a B.sc in Insurance from University of Lagos, MBA in Marketing from Ladoke Akintola University and an M.sc in Strategic Management from Enugu State University. Ayeni, a dyed-in the-wool professional; is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Fellow, Institute of Loans & Risk Management, Nigeria; Associate member, Nigeria Council of Registered Brokers.
Brilliant, forward looking, the upwardly mobile insurance practitionuer, Ebun joined NEM Insurance PLC in 1996 as Head of Underwriting then moved to Lion of Africa Insurance in 1999 as Manager, Client Services & Business Development. Fate, however, took him back to NEM Insurance PLC again in 2001 as Head, Marketing & Business Development.
In 2002, Oasis Insurance PLC, Lagos took him over as Deputy General Manager, Technical Services Compliance Officer/Headof Marketing before he called it quits with Oasis Insurance in 2010. Ebun capped his Insurance careerwith a sojourn at the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIN), the examining body for all insurers in Nigeria, 2013- 2018 where he held sway as Director, Examinations & Records.
Always eager to impart knowledge, he lectured on part-time basis with the University of Nigeria
(UNN), Lagos Outreach, 2005 – 2010 and Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), 2010 2012.

Ayeni, whose pastimes include reading, travelling is married and has children and a grandchild.
