NCRIB Urges Members To Regularize Membership Status

Dr. (Mrs) Bola Onigbogi, NCRIB President

The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) said it will soon publish the names of its eligible members as one of its statutory responsibilities and called on members to regularize their membership status with the secretariat.

The President of the Council, Dr. (Mrs) Bola Onigbogi dropped the hint recently at the Council’s bi-monthly Members Evening sponsored by Heirs Insurance Limited and Heirs Life Assurance Limited.

According to her, “One of our statutory responsibilities every year is to publish the names of all eligible members of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers in National Dailies. I like to inform you that it is about the time for the Council to carry out this statutory obligation.”

She advised the Brokers to avoid the mistakes of the past by ensuring that they meet up with the requirement for the publication.

“Leveraging our past experiences, Brokers that failed to meet up with the requirements for the publication, often face lots of challenges in business due to the attendant negative image that non-inclusion attracts.

“I, therefore, urge you to regularize your membership status with the Secretariat, pay your subscription to merit the list. Delay may be dangerous!

She said her recent visit to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is in partial fulfilment of her administration’s Thrust of Office which  she said: “centred on Strategic Engagement to open more vista of business for members of this Council.”

She assured that she would stop at nothing to ensure that the Council becomes an indispensable entity in the insurance value chain.

“Once again, I promise to stop at nothing to ensure that our Council becomes an indispensable entity in the insurance value chain. We are not relenting on our oars; we will still forge ahead and ensure that no insurance policy will be placed without the input of an insurance broker. I am convinced beyond the limit that until the public understands fully the roles of Insurance Brokers, the allegation of non-payment of claims and other consequential image challenges in the industry would remain,” she said.
